A focus for this month is on living intentionally and to take action. Today my intention is to celebrate and thank friends and family as part of the New Year. It started with lunch at a new restaurant, Eureka and eating hamburgers while sharing stories of the holiday and plans for the year to come. Then calls to family and friends in distant places to thank them for their support and love. Friendships are cherished gifts that need to be nurtured.
Embracing solitude - Much of the holiday season has been spent quietly in what I refer to as a cocoon phase as I work hard on my recovery. One of the great comforts has been my dear Ragdoll cat, Perseus who lies beside me purring and cuddling with his white puffy paws. Perseus gently reminds me of the timing for my treatments as he cries out to me “it is time”, and after the treatment is done, he relaxes as his work is done. Perseus’s companionship helps me to realize I am never truly alone. There are gentle moments of seems to know more about importance of breathing than I do at times.
